Our Services

The Allentown Rescue Mission has proudly rescued, rehabilitated, and restored homeless men since 1900. Our Emergency Shelter opens Monday through Friday at 4:30pm. The Emergency Shelter is closed from 8 am to 4:30 pm. On the weekends and during inclement weather, the Emergency Shelter is open all day. We accept men 18 years old and older regardless of race, creed, political affiliation, religion, or sexual orientation. You can call us to learn more or stop by our facility; walk-ins are welcomed. All men seeking our help must provide a photo ID. The men in our care have access to our Transformation Program, Clean Team Workforce, DeSales Free Medical Clinic, and Chapel services.

The Emergency Shelter provides the essentials to homeless men. They receive warm meals, hot showers, clean clothes, and respite from the hardships of the streets.

The Transformation Program provides our guests with life skills, workforce skills, and religious classes to help them reclaim their lives.
Clean Team Workforce members do a variety of jobs, earn wages, and save money as they transition back into the community.
Since 2007, DeSales University has offered medical services to the guests of the Allentown Rescue Mission.

For many of the men who come through our doors, their first introduction to the Allentown Rescue Mission is sitting down to a hearty meal.

Chapel services provide opportunities for the men to hear multiple voices speaking God’s Truth, as well as offering local churches and ministries the opportunity to minister to our men.

Books to the Rescue is a program operated by the men of the Allentown Rescue Mission to acquire, through donations, early learning books and distribute them to local elementary schools for the teachers to pass along to their most needy students.

Therapeutic Art Classes allow men in Allentown Rescue Missions’s Transformation Program to embark on a painting adventure with an on-staff instructor, learning to express themselves via art.
